Undergraduate Admission

Requirements
  • Completed application via the KYSU Online admissions portal
  • Official high school transcript or GED, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Official ACT or SAT scores (minimum composite SAT score of 960)
Test scores may be waived for applicants who are 25 or older, active-duty military, or veterans.

Master's & Doctoral

Requirements
  • Official transcripts from all previously attended postsecondary institutions
  • A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
Some programs require a higher GPA or additional materials. Check the Special Program Requirements table below for program-specific details.

Requirements
  • Official transcripts from all previously attended institutions
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 at the most recently attended institution
  • Official ACT or SAT scores (minimum composite SAT score of 960)
  • Course-by-course transfer credit evaluation

Current KYSU students moving from a residential program to an online or global program must meet the standard admission requirements for that program level.

Readmit Students

Readmit students follow the same standard admission requirements as new applicants at the same program level. Contact the Online Admissions Office to confirm which materials you'll need to resubmit.

Special Program Requirements

Most programs have no requirements beyond the standard admission criteria above. Programs not listed below have no additional requirements.

  • UndergraduateRN to BS NursingActive, unencumbered RN license in your state of residence; Associate Degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited program; minimum GPA of 2.8 (4.0 scale) on associate coursework.
  • GraduateMBA3 letters of recommendation (professional and/or academic); TOEFL scores for international students (may be waived if a prior degree was earned at a U.S. institution or a university where English is the language of instruction).
  • GraduateInterdisciplinary Behavioral SciencesLetter of application (approx. 1,500-word essay on goals and experience), resume or CV, official transcripts, and 3 letters of reference.
  • GraduateSocial Work (MSW)Personal statement (500–700 words) and two letters of recommendation, at least one from a social work professional or professor.
  • Post-GraduateDoctor of Nursing PracticeEarned BSN from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program; minimum GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale); active, unencumbered RN license in any state; resume or CV; personal essay; graduate coursework in research and statistics strongly recommended.

Requirements are in addition to the standard admission criteria for each level.

When Can I Start?

KYSU Online runs three semesters a year — Fall, Spring, and Summer. Most courses are split into two consecutive eight-week terms, giving you multiple entry points throughout the year. A limited number of courses follow a traditional sixteen-week format spanning the full semester.

Start your application on the KYSU Online admissions portal — it takes about 15 minutes.

Submit transcripts

Send official transcripts from high school and any previously attended colleges.

Apply for federal financial aid

File the FAFSA at studentaid.gov using KYSU's school code to unlock federal aid options.

Enroll in classes

Work with your advisor to register for your first eight-week term.
